- A chamois cloth or velvet grooming mitt used after brushing adds a high-gloss shine to the short gray coat with minimal effort.
- Weimaraners have very little body odor for a large breed; avoid frequent bathing, which can dry out the skin and cause flaking that shows clearly on the short gray coat.
- The long, pendant ears create a warm, moist environment — clean ear canals weekly with a veterinary ear cleanser to prevent yeast and bacterial infections common in the breed.
- Check between the toes and under the tail weekly; the short coat provides little protection in skin fold areas that can trap moisture.
