Puli
The Puli is an agile Hungarian herding dog whose dense, weatherproof black coat naturally forms tight dreadlock-like cords. Smaller and more active than the Komondor, the Puli's cords form earlier and tend to be narrower and more uniform. The breed has been herding sheep on Hungarian plains for over a thousand years.

- Always dry cords completely — residual moisture deep inside cords causes mildew and skin infections.
- The black coat fades to rusty brown in strong sunlight; limit prolonged sun exposure to preserve color.
- Cord formation begins earlier in Pulik (around 6 months) than in Komondors — begin daily separation checks at this age.
