Neapolitan Mastiff

The Neapolitan Mastiff is an ancient Italian guard dog breed with dramatic skin folds cascading across its face, neck, and shoulders — more pronounced than on any other mastiff breed. Their short, dense single coat requires very little brushing, but the enormous volume of loose skin produces a correspondingly enormous grooming challenge: every fold must be cleaned and dried regularly to prevent the skin fold dermatitis and pyoderma this breed is notoriously prone to. Professional grooming visits should prioritize fold cleaning above all else.
