The Japanese Chin is a refined Japanese imperial companion breed with silky, straight, single-layer coat that flows beautifully and is surprisingly easy to maintain for a long-coated toy breed. The single coat (no undercoat) means it mats less readily than double-coated small breeds, but the long feathering on the ears, chest, and legs still requires regular brushing.
