English Setter

The English Setter is one of the oldest sporting breeds, developed in England over hundreds of years as an elegant bird dog that works vast open terrain. Their coat is one of the most beautiful in the sporting group: a flat, silky medium-length coat with distinctive feathering on the ears, chest, belly, legs, and tail. The coat comes in a range of colors called 'belton' patterns — roans and ticks on white — that require a particular approach to keep clean and mat-free. English Setters are gentle, sociable dogs that generally tolerate grooming well.
