- Start comprehensive grooming handling with a Cane Corso puppy before 16 weeks — at 100+ pounds, a Corso that resists nail trimming or ear cleaning becomes a significant safety challenge.
- The jowls and lip folds of the Cane Corso trap saliva, food, and moisture after every meal; wipe the jowls and lip folds with a damp cloth after feeding and check for redness or odor weekly.
- Cane Corsi have a short, dense coat that sheds more than expected for its length — a high-velocity dryer after bathing blows out an impressive volume of undercoat and dramatically reduces post-groom shedding at home.
- For Corsi with a natural (uncropped) ear set, the large floppy ears need weekly cleaning and need to be dried carefully after bathing; trapped moisture under a heavy ear flap creates an ideal environment for yeast infections.
