- Brittany ear feathering hangs close to the ear canal — clean ears weekly with a veterinary ear cleanser, as field dogs that run through wet cover are particularly prone to moisture-related ear infections.
- After field work, comb through the ear feathering and leg furnishings methodically to remove grass seeds, foxtails, and burrs before they work deeper into the coat or, worse, into the skin.
