A life-threatening condition in rabbits where ingested fur accumulates in the digestive tract, blocking the passage of food. Most common in wool breeds (Angora, Jersey Wooly) during heavy shedding.
Wool block can kill a rabbit within 24–48 hours. Prevention through daily grooming during molt is far easier than emergency treatment.
Unlimited hay is the best wool block prevention — fiber keeps the gut moving. Reduced or absent droppings require immediate veterinary care.
