Cleaning the waxy buildup from scent glands located on either side of a rabbit's genital area. A routine hygiene task often overlooked by new rabbit owners.
Uncleaned scent glands cause odor, skin irritation, and flystrike risk in warm weather. Should be checked monthly.
Use a damp cotton pad or cotton swab with warm water — never harsh chemicals. Gently loosen wax without forcing into the gland opening.
