When should I take my pet to the vet instead of the groomer?

See a vet for: skin sores, lumps, parasites, open wounds, signs of pain during grooming, severely matted coat with skin involvement, overgrown nails into paw pads, ear infections, or any grooming-related bleeding that won't stop. Groomers spot problems but cannot treat medical conditions.
