The Savannah is a hybrid between a domestic cat and the African Serval, producing a tall, lean, spotted cat with a wild appearance. Early generations (F1, F2) are very large — sometimes exceeding 20 pounds — and have significant wild-cat behavioral traits. Their short, coarse, spotted coat is extremely low-maintenance. Due to their hybrid status, local regulations regarding ownership vary widely.
