The LaPerm is a naturally curly-coated breed that arose from a spontaneous mutation on an Oregon farm in 1982. Their coat ranges from loose, flowing waves to tight ringlets and can vary in texture and curl tightness throughout the cat's life — kittens may be born bald, develop a curly coat, then shed it before growing the adult curls. A gentle, affectionate breed that is easy to handle.
